He was teaching us conditioning, and to demonstrate, he got a trashbag, cut a hole in it, and put it over some kid. He then pulled out a list of seemingly random words. Whenever one of those words was \"can\", the kid would be blasted in the face with a huge nerf water gun. Eventually, the kid would obviously flinch when the word can was read. When the word can was read and he wasn't blasted, though, the flinching stopped (extinction).
