# Sewers
The sewers of Creator's Landing have a notable but ignorable smell. There are goblins, rats and more.
There is a goblin hideout here, they are feeding the rats corrupted strength potions and making them angry. They completely avoid the monument though, almost like an instinctive fear.
Take inspiration from Colossal Cave Adventure for descriptions of the sewers.
## Chests
* Lower left corner of the sewers: 50g, Rat Bait (can be thrown to distract d4 rats out of combat)
* Gnal's room: see Gnal's Room section
* Monument room: Potion of Giant Strength or Potion of Cat Agility
## Entry Room
> The sewers of Creator's Landing are dark, smelly and gloomy. Light shines in from above, but it is really not that much. There are torches on the wall.
Two Goblins hear you enter. If a player hits one of them with a ranged attack, they battle. If not, they escape into the side rooms.
## Side Rooms
> This side room seems to have been converted into some kind of bathroom by someone who has never understood what a bathroom is. It smells disgusting. You should leave before the stench overwhelms you.
## Passage to Gnal's Room
> The walls of the sewer are curling around. The walls are getting a little cramped, but it is workable. The water at your feet seems to be clean, somehow.
## Training Room
> Several Goblins and Rats are duking it out. The Goblins have some weirdly improvised straw armor on to nullify rat damage. The goblins also seem to be attempting to figure out how to use Cetacean and Shark weaponry. Everyone is busy enough that they don't hear you open the door (assuming you do it quietly).
## The Goblins
There is a group of goblins that has taken root in the sewers. Gnal, the Goblin Orkaster at the heart of this movement, has set up shop in a clear area in the middle of the sewers. He has been tinkering with rats using a combination of Grafting skills, arcane magic and necromancy. These super-rats have been terrorizing the town in very subtle ways, causing mysterious food theft from storehouses and havok on outgoing ships.
If the players have spoken to the administrator of Creator's Landing, they will know that there's a mysterious problem with food being stolen by weirdly strong rats. If they have not spoken to the administrator, they will not immediately realize that the rats are enhanced.
## Gnal's Room
Gnal is a mad scientist. If a rat-shapeshifted player stumbles in on him, they will need to roll for constitution in order to avoid being experimented on. He will not immediately attack party members that wander into his room, but once he does detect you, he will attempt to throw a grafting tool at the nearest player. See the Gnal page for more information.

Gnal's room has a chest with 158 gold and two inventory slots of stolen food in it. Returning the stolen food to the administrator will result in a reward of 400 gold.
## Monument
The star denotes where the main plot of the campaign gets told, visit from the goddess Divae that tells of eight kingdoms on the island that have all fallen into various kinds of disorder and chaos. Help them and get their heart-gems to place in the eight slots. The first slot is a gem that belongs to the Miau. Have the goddess bless the party and answer any questions.
### First Visit
> The room opens up and you see a staircase leading to a door with a golden engraved name on it: Divae. The engraving looks like it's on some kind of door, but it's a kind of door that you've never seen before.
Upon the players going deeper into the room and past the door, they will get to the statue area.
### Statue Area
> There is a stone statue of a Cetacean wizard in the middle of the room. It looks lifelike, holding a staff tipped with a glowing pink crystal.
> Travelers below heed this tale: recover the eight hearts of legend and restore the island to harmony. I am one of the heroes of the island, my power is weak, but I have enough to get you this message. Help us. The Miau in the desert have suffered for so long under the threat of sandstorms cutting them off from us all. Help them and you help us all. The island is more powerful than you think. Your magic may be strong, your courage may be placed in the right hands, but this will be your ultimate test. Come back with the heart and I will give you some of the island's power.
> Please help me. I want to see this succeed.
> I'll be here waiting for you. If you need to reach out to me, head to a statue and speak my name into it. I will show up to give you guidance. My power is limited, so please do not use this frivilously.
Have Divae give the players a bag of holding as an item to help with their quest.
## Legend Room
> You see a wall with a large inscription on it. It looks like it spells out the history of the hero Divae.
### First Part
> In the year 11141 (unexian seven nif foursy-one or 1573 in base 10) there was a hero that saved Malto from certain doom. Her name was Divae. She came from a life of privilege, but abandoned it to see what the world was really like. Through her stuggle, she worked with her party to save us all from the forces of darkness.
### Second Part
> Divae was the binding force that kept the group together. They fought through deserts, forests and badlands, uniting the eight species into one front. Together they stopped the evil that was spreading chaos across the land. Creator's Landing was established after Divae moved here. She retired to this town, and we built this monument in the town square to honor her.
